Conversations and Desisions

Simon lead Emily through the house, and sat her down at the kitchen table.

“You must be hungry” Simon noted, “I’ll make some Pancakes”

“You have quite a unique house” Emily said, while watching Simon make pancakes like a pro, “How long have you been here?”

“umm…16 years I think. Yes, 16, i’m turning 31 on thursday”

The awkward silence nearly killed them. Emily sat quietly, throwing questioning glances at Simon every so often.

“Simon?” a voice asked, “Are you making breakfast? I told you that I would do that, and what are you doing up at six thirty?”

Roxie had walked into the room.

“Pancakes! I know you love ‘em!” in his voice was a hope that Roxie wouldn’t notice Emily

“oh oka– Who is this?”

Dang, she noticed

“emmm….Roxie this is my old friend Emily. Emily this is my umm Wife, Roxie.”

“Hello Emily” Roxie said with true curiosity

Emily said nothing, she just looked at Simon with a look that said “why didn’t you tell me that you were married” and “what the heck? who’s she?”

“It’s not long before Julian’s up, Emms is playing with the dolls so If she smells the pankakes, she’ll be down here faster than you can say dolls” Roxie told Simon

Dang, another piece of information that Emily didn’t have to know

Just to make it more awkward, Emily (Louisa) came storming into the kitchen yelling “DADDY DADDY! JULIAN HIT ME!”  behing her Julian came walking quickly saying “no, no I didn’t” quietly but he knew they wouldn’t listen to him.

Three Strikes, You’re Out!

Well, maybe not for Emily.

“Oh, are these your children?” she asked politley

 ”Well, yes actually, though they aren’t very well behaved“  Simon answered, throwin a sideways glance at Emily (Louisa) and Julian. At the look they shut up.

 ”Hi miss!” Julian said cheerfully and took a seat at the table, “what’s your name?”

“Emily” Emily replied

“oh, thats cool, I’m Julian”

Emily 2 sat down next to Emily.

“What’s your name?”

“Emily” Emily 2 huffed and stared at her mother

“Well, I guess we have the same name!”

Emily 2 didn’t reply, Emily 1 stared.

“as you see,” Simon said quietly to Emily 1, “Julian’s as friendly as pie, but Emily is…..err, a little grumpy”

Emily laughed, “I can tell”

“have you ever raised a child, Emily?” Simon asked

Emily laughed again, “After the fire accident Buck and Jazz died, and their daughter was laft, so I took her in. I mean, I couldn’t let my little cousin die!”

“Where do you live?”

“ermm…”

“you can stay here…maybe”

“What would I do?”

“You could try to make my kids nice, thats for sure”

 

And so it was settled, Emily would stay in the guest room, and try to work with Simon’s kids.

 

Note From the Author: I’m sorry this took so long, I was on break until monday and havent had the time to write really. I hope it didn’t tick too many people off.
